Wines So Good, They’ll Make You Forget Winter Ever Existed!

Spring is the time when every bottle of wine whispers, “I’m the reason you spring forward and not fall back.” As the days get longer, so, most likely, does your wine list, because nothing says “spring cleaning” like making room in the fridge for more rosé. (Is spring cleaning still an actual thing?) And remember: We always maintain a glass-half-full attitude when it comes to drinking wine in spring, or as we like to call it, optimistically prepped for a top-off. Our Wines of the Month for May will have you embracing spring with all the ardor of a kangaroo on a trampoline.

El Jefe Grande
Ribera del Duero, Spain
You won’t be sorry there’s more wine in this bottle…

We are huge fans of Tempranillo because, yes, it’s delicious, but it is also versatile. This one is aged in cement for purity of fruit and freshness, revealing notes of white cherry, berry, plum, stone and mocha. And it’s ORGANIC.

Terregaie Kali
Sauvignon Blanc
Veneto, Italy
Italian Sauv Blanc…The Ultimate Crowdpleaser

It’s common to hear people say, regarding Sauv Blanc, “Is this more like New Zealand style or French?” How about neither! This Italian SB leans more French in its minerality, but then leans toward New Zealand with lots of citrus, mango, guava and elderberry. So we try not to classify it one way or the other; we prefer to just categorize it as “generally very delicious.”

Pairings: Grilled chicken, citrus salads, shrimp, chicken tikka tacos, Korean fried chicken, ceviche, goat cheese on crostini

• 3 bottles: $16.14/btl
• 6 bottles: $15.29/btl
• 12 bottles: $14.44/btl

Tuscany, Italy
Trust us when we say this rosato will change your life if you let it.

This wine is super magical with a color akin to coral reef. The wine goes through longer skin maceration, creating some light tannins and gorgeous flavors of strawberry, blood orange, spice box, sour berries and saline. Natural and organic.

Pairings: watermelon feta salad, pan con tomato, grilled cheese and tomato soup, gazpacho, tuna poke

Barbara Macfarlane, owner of Marczyk Fine Foods, is always happy when she gets asked to talk about a favorite wine or spirit. "So many wines, so little time. So like our customers, I depend on the crew to tell me what's new, delicious, and noteworthy. It's true, I get stuck on faves, but the new wines coming in the door are so well chosen! So drink up Denver, we've been doing this for 20 years and we know what's cool!"
